About fbExchange

fbExchange is a web-based software application that acts as a link exchange and advertising network for third-party Facebook Applications.

fbExchange.com cares deeply about online privacy, and this privacy policy describes the personal information we collect, why we collect it, and explains how it is used. By using the fbExchange website you agree to the collection and use of your personal information as described below as well as the collection of personal information of users making use of your Facebook application. You also agree to abide by the terms described in the fbExchange Terms of Use Agreement.

Facebook Privacy

fbExchange respects the privacy of Facebook Users. If you (as a Facebook User) do not wish for any of your personal information to be distributed between applications on the fbExchange, please send email to privacy@fbexchange.com subject "DO NOT PROFILE" -- please include your Facebook User Id. You will continue to see links in participating fbExchange Facebook Applications but we will NOT make use of or store any personal information in the creation of promotional links.

Information Collection and Use by fbExchange

fbExchange collects user submitted information such as name, email and password data to authenticate users, and to send notifications to those users relating to the fbExchange service. This information is not shared to anyone and is used by fbExchange so we can customize your experience and protect the security of your account.

We may also use a user's email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding the service.

fbExchange also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, referring/exit pages, date/time stamp, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes

The fbExchange code that a user integrates into their Facebook Application makes requests of the fbExchange service and may pass certain personal information such as a Facebook user id, birthday, or gender flag. fbExchange uses this information to provide the most relevant links (either promoting other Facebook Applications or third party promotions).

From time to time, fbExchange or a partner/advertiser, may sponsor a promotion, sweepstake or contest through fbExchange. Facebook users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. fbExchange may transfer personal information to certain ad partners that any Facebook User have explicitly requested to receive information from. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

Third-Party Advertisers

Advertising partners may deliver advertisements appearing on the fbExchange network. Our arrangements with these advertisers do not require us to share any personally-identifiable information about our users.

Cookies

fbExchange uses cookies to store users' preferences and to record session information, to ensure that visitors are shown content based on browser type and user profile information. Please note this privacy statement covers the use of cookies by www.fbexchange.com only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Links

fbExchange surfaces links to other Facebook Applications and may link to other sites via user generated information. fbExchange is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on fbExchange and any information passed by users of the fbExchange in requesting link exchange or advertising code.

Manually Deleting a User Account

Third Party Advertising

In certain cases ads that appear on the Facebook Application pages that make use of the fbExchange. Our Web advertising partners may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize a computer each time they send an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about users, or others who are using a computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by fbExchange and does not cover the use of cookies by any third party advertisers who may be promoted through the fbExchange.

Security

fbExchange user accounts are secured by user-created passwords and fbExchange takes certain precautions to insure that user account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect user information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the absolute security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time. Sharing and Disclosure of Information fbExchange Collects

Except as otherwise described in this privacy statement, fbExchange will not disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe that disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by 30 Boxes, whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (2) to enforce the fbExchange Terms of Use Agreement or to protect our rights; or (3) to protect the safety of members of the public and users of the service.

Business Transfer

fbExchange (For Friends Network, LLC) reserves the right to transfer personal information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of fbExchange or substantially all of its assets to that successor in interest. Changes in Our Privacy Policy

From time to time we may make changes to our privacy policy If we make changes, we will post them on our site to make users aware of what the changes are so users will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and when we may disclose it. A user is bound by any minor changes to the policy when she or he uses the site after those changes have been posted If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify by posting a notice on our Web site for 30 days.
